This is an introductory course for practicing the preliminaries for hatha yoga which is harmonizing for the body, breath and mind. Each class begins with a centering practice and progresses into gentle movements coordinated with slow, diaphragmatic breathing resulting in more flexibility, strength and balance for the mind and body. These enjoyable practices can help to calm the nervous system, improve blood flow, help cleanse and refresh the body and mind. Classes end with a restorative relaxation which integrates the many benefits from your practice for you to enjoy in your daily life. All practice is done according to your personal capacity so all can participate.
The illustrated book, Exercises for Joints & Glands, containing nearly 70 exercises as taught by Swami Rama and a DVD are optional materials available in our bookstore.
