This is a “chair yoga” series based on the Joint and Gland Exercises as taught by Swami Rama, the founder of our center. Designed by Anna Rychner, a former R.N., for students interested in healthy aging, it may also be suitable for those recovering from surgery or long term illness.
Joint and Gland Exercises are simple stretches and range of movement exercises that balance breath with movement, contribute to an overall sense of well being, and prepare body and mind for meditation.
Anna Rychner, a former R.N., has been teaching yoga in the Himalayan tradition since the 1970’s. During that time she’s introduced gentle yoga exercises and breathing practices to students in senior living centers, mental health facilities and cardiac rehab centers.
